Actress Zendaya added fuel to persistent marriage speculation during a promotional appearance at a Las Vegas wedding chapel on Saturday, March 14, where she playfully referenced revealing her last name while serving as an official witness for a couple's nuptials.
The event, organized by film production company A24 to promote Zendaya's upcoming film with Robert Pattinson titled The Drama, featured a one-day wedding chapel experience in Las Vegas. The actress surprised attendees by making an unannounced appearance during an actual wedding ceremony, where she was photographed wearing a gold band on her left hand.
As Zendaya signed the couple's marriage license in her capacity as their official witness, she remarked that the newlyweds were receiving her "last name reveal," according to social media documentation of the event. The comment represents the actress's most direct acknowledgment of the ongoing rumors surrounding her relationship with actor Tom Holland.
Speculation regarding a potential marriage between Zendaya and Holland intensified following comments made by celebrity stylist Law Roach at the 2026 Actor Awards on March 1. When questioned about his client's wedding plans during a red carpet interview with Access Hollywood, Roach stated unequivocally, "The wedding has already happened. You missed it." When pressed to confirm whether he was breaking news, Roach replied, "It's very true."
Zendaya's mother, Claire Stoermer, responded to the marriage rumors by sharing Roach's interview on her Instagram Stories, accompanied by a laughing emoji and the caption "The laugh..." The cryptic response did little to clarify the situation for curious observers.
Further speculation arose when Zendaya attended the Louis Vuitton Paris Fashion Week show on March 10, where she was observed wearing what appeared to be a white gold Clash de Cartier band. Notably absent was her Jessica McCormack engagement ring, which had been visible at previous public appearances.
The relationship between Zendaya and Holland, who met while filming the Spider-Man franchise, was publicly confirmed by the actress in 2021. Multiple media outlets reported in January 2025 that Holland, 29, had proposed to Zendaya during the holiday season.
Tom Holland's father, Dominic Holland, subsequently confirmed the engagement in a Patreon blog post published in January 2025. In his post, Dominic revealed that his son had followed traditional protocol by requesting permission from Zendaya's father, Kazembe Ajamu Coleman, before proposing.
"He had purchased a ring. He had spoken with her father and gained permission to propose to his daughter," Dominic Holland wrote. "I do fret that their combined stardom will amplify their spotlight and the commensurate demands on them and yet they continually confound me by handling everything with aplomb."
The elder Holland expressed confidence in the couple's future together, writing, "And even though show-business is a messy place for relationships and particularly so for famous couples as they crash and burn in public and are too numerous to mention... I am completely confident they will make a successful union."
Representatives for both Zendaya and Holland have not issued official statements confirming or denying the marriage rumors. The couple is scheduled to reunite professionally in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which is set to open in theaters on July 31.
The Las Vegas wedding chapel event also featured a DJ set by Alana Haim, who appears alongside Zendaya in The Drama. The promotional activation allowed one couple to have their wedding ceremony officiated at the temporary chapel, with Zendaya's surprise appearance serving as an unexpected highlight for the participants.
