American actress and singer Sissy Spacek took on the title role in the 1976 horror/mystery film "Carrie" while she was in her mid-20s. The character was a timid high school student who possessed telekinetic abilities.

Spacek was not the only notable name in the cast. John Travolta, Piper Laurie and Amy Irving also appeared in the film alongside her.

Decades later, Spacek is now in her 70s. The film remains a touchstone of 1970s horror cinema, and Spacek's performance is still widely remembered.
