Josh Sanders, the singer who placed second on The Voice two years ago, is now fighting a bitter custody battle with his estranged wife Kendra over their three children, according to court documents obtained by TMZ.

The couple separated in January, and the legal proceedings have since escalated into a contentious dispute marked by serious allegations from both parties.

In court filings, Josh Sanders argues that he should have custody of the children, claiming that Kendra is attempting to alienate them from him and preventing effective co-parenting. He further asserts that one of the children has expressed a desire to live with him.

Kendra has responded with serious allegations of her own. She claims Josh Sanders is an active alcoholic who squandered his professional opportunities following his runner-up finish on the popular singing competition. According to court documents, she alleges he has driven while intoxicated with the children in the vehicle and has exhibited violent behavior in their presence.

In her filings, Kendra contends that Josh Sanders should only be permitted supervised visitation and that she should retain primary custody. She argues that she can provide a stable, loving, alcohol-free home environment for the children.

The legal battle has extended beyond custody proceedings. Arrest records indicate that Josh Sanders was arrested in April for violating a domestic violence temporary restraining order. Earlier this month, he filed a trespassing complaint against Kendra.

The specific circumstances surrounding the domestic violence restraining order remain unclear. However, the singer maintains that the order relates solely to the ongoing custody dispute.

The case represents a dramatic turn for Sanders, whose appearance on The Voice two years ago brought him national recognition and what appeared to be promising career prospects in the music industry. The custody battle now threatens to overshadow his professional accomplishments as both parties continue to make serious allegations in court.
