Vinny Guadagnino, the 38-year-old Jersey Shore alum, publicly reacted to the engagement of his close friend and former co-star DJ Pauly D with a comedic Instagram post on Sunday, September 27. The post appeared just hours after Paul "DJ Pauly D" DelVecchio Jr. announced his engagement to influencer Nikki Hall.
In the post, Guadagnino wrote, "I'm not OK," a tongue-in-cheek comment that accompanied an AI-generated video. The video depicted Guadagnino standing in the rain with a hand raised, as if hoping DelVecchio Jr. would notice him, while DelVecchio Jr., 46, was shown beside his wife-to-be, 34, in a lavish living area, celebrating their news. Guadagnino ended the caption with a sincere note: "Congratulations @djpaulyd and @nikkisaintclaire."
The post quickly garnered attention, surpassing 100,000 likes within two hours. Fans flooded the comments section with crying-laughter emojis. One follower commented, "It used to be MVP … then it was VP … now it's just V 😂😭😭😭," as reported by Celebrity News: Latest Celeb News & Pictures - Us Weekly. Another wrote, "He lost his best friend, his [sic] getting married 😢😢," also according to Celebrity News: Latest Celeb News & Pictures - Us Weekly.
Guadagnino and DelVecchio Jr. starred together on the MTV reality series Jersey Shore, which aired from December 2009 to December 2012. Their friendship has remained a focal point for fans, making Guadagnino's humorous response to the engagement particularly resonant.
DelVecchio Jr. first met Hall, a Las Vegas-based lifestyle influencer, when both he and Guadagnino appeared on the 2019 MTV reality dating series Double Shot at Love. The show featured 20 single women, including Hall, from whom the best friends were tasked with choosing a match. Although DelVecchio Jr. left the show single, he later began a relationship with Hall away from the cameras. After six years of dating, the couple became engaged on Sunday, September 27.
