Singer Toni Braxton has paid off a six-figure tax debt to the Internal Revenue Service, her representative confirmed to TMZ.com, resolving a federal tax lien filed against her in late June.

Official records show the federal government filed a tax lien against Braxton on June 22, documenting unpaid taxes spanning three years. The breakdown included $69,390 owed for the 2022 tax year, $278,876 for 2023, and $250,358 for 2024. The combined total reached approximately $598,000.

A representative for the artist told TMZ.com that Braxton has satisfied the outstanding balance in full.

The tax settlement arrives more than ten years after Braxton concluded her second bankruptcy proceeding. That case, filed in 2010, involved millions of dollars owed to various creditors and was officially closed in 2015.

Braxton's financial difficulties first became public in 1998 when she filed for bankruptcy following a dispute with her record label over compensation. The filing drew significant public attention and criticism, including a notable confrontation during an appearance on Oprah Winfrey's talk show, where the television host questioned the singer about her spending habits.

The star of "Braxton Family Values" faced renewed scrutiny when she returned to bankruptcy court in 2010, marking her second such filing in just over a decade. That proceeding detailed substantial debts to multiple creditors before reaching resolution five years later.

The recent tax lien represents a fresh financial challenge for Braxton, though her representative's confirmation of payment indicates the matter has been resolved without extended legal proceedings. Federal tax liens are public records filed when taxpayers fail to pay outstanding tax obligations after receiving demand for payment from the IRS.
