TLC singer Rozonda Thomas, known professionally as Chilli, addressed a social media controversy on Friday after accidentally sharing conspiracy content about former First Lady Michelle Obama. The incident, which occurred over the weekend, prompted widespread reaction from fans and led the artist to issue a public statement clarifying her position.

In a video statement, Chilli explained that she discovered the repost only after receiving phone calls from concerned individuals. The singer stated she had no knowledge of sharing the content until alerted by others, at which point she immediately removed the post from her Instagram profile.

"I wanted to come on here to address a few things circulating on the internet that are very concerning to me," Chilli said in the statement. She emphasized having the "utmost respect and admiration" for Michelle Obama and stated she would never intentionally post anything "that is disrespectful to her or to any woman."

The controversy expanded beyond the social media incident when reports emerged regarding political donations attributed to the singer. These contributions allegedly went to political action campaigns connected to the National Republican Senatorial Committee. Chilli addressed these claims directly, explaining that her donations were intended specifically to support organizations benefiting military veterans.

"In regard to my donations, these are the things that support the veterans," she stated. "I have always supported the veterans." The singer reinforced her commitment to charitable causes while distancing herself from any partisan political intentions.

Chilli further clarified her political stance by expressing support for both President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama. "I was a big supporter of President Obama and Michelle," she said. "I would never do anything that is harmful or hateful to anybody."

The incident highlights ongoing challenges public figures face navigating social media platforms, where accidental interactions can quickly escalate into public relations issues. The swift response from Chilli demonstrates the importance of addressing misinformation promptly in the digital age, particularly when it involves respected public figures such as former First Lady Michelle Obama.
