Spencer Pratt, fresh off his unsuccessful bid for Los Angeles mayor, is claiming victory of a different sort following speculation about the future of Jimmy Kimmel's late-night television program.

The reality television personality turned political candidate posted on Twitter to celebrate rumors that ABC might not extend Kimmel's contract beyond its May 2027 expiration date. In his social media message, Pratt also took aim at California Governor Gavin Newsom.

"Newsom AND Kimmel gone next year?? Be still, my laughing heart! Things are looking UP fam," Pratt wrote on the platform.

The speculation surrounding Jimmy Kimmel Live! stems from reports suggesting the network may not renew the host's current agreement when it concludes in May 2027. Sources indicate staff members have discussed Kimmel exploring opportunities for other television programs and podcast ventures throughout the entertainment industry.

ABC has pushed back against these claims, characterizing them as mere speculation without foundation.

The apparent glee from Pratt comes after a contentious relationship between the two men during the recent mayoral campaign. Kimmel publicly mocked Pratt's electoral defeat, going so far as to decorate a U-Haul truck in a pointed suggestion that the former Hills star should leave Los Angeles.

Should the late-night program actually conclude, it would mark the end of a significant chapter in television history. Jimmy Kimmel Live! first premiered in 2003, making it a 24-year fixture of the late-night landscape by the time the current contract expires.

For Pratt, the potential cancellation represents what he appears to view as vindication following his mayoral race loss, though the rumors remain unconfirmed by the network.
