Singer D4vd is in police custody following his arrest Tuesday for the murder of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. The 21-year-old artist is being held without bail after detectives from the LAPD's Robbery-Homicide Division executed the arrest.

The arrest comes more than seven months after Rivas' body was discovered decomposing inside D4vd's Tesla. The grim discovery occurred in September 2025 while the singer was in the middle of a tour. Following the discovery, D4vd immediately canceled his remaining tour dates and withdrew from public view.

The vehicle had been abandoned in the Hollywood Hills for several days before being towed to a Hollywood impound lot on September 5, 2025. Three days later, on September 8, police discovered the body after receiving reports of a foul odor emanating from the car. Authorities have not disclosed who was driving the Tesla before it was found abandoned, and the vehicle had not been reported stolen.

Law enforcement sources indicated that the LAPD considered D4vd a suspect throughout the death investigation. In November 2025, a grand jury was convened, with Los Angeles County Deputy District Attorney Beth Silverman presenting the case. The grand jury heard testimony from multiple witnesses within D4vd's orbit, including his day-to-day manager, Robert Morgenroth, and his close friend, streamer Neo Langston.

LAPD sources have revealed that D4vd made a mysterious trip to a remote area of Santa Barbara in the middle of the night last spring, which investigators believe is somehow connected to Rivas' disappearance. Authorities believe D4vd had a relationship with Rivas, who was 14 years old when her body was found.

When discovered, Rivas' body was in an advanced state of decomposition. She was wearing black leggings and a tube top, along with two pieces of jewelry: a metal stud earring and a metal chain bracelet in the shape of a "W." Authorities noted that she had a tattoo on her right index finger with the letters "Shhh..." D4vd has the same ink on his right index finger.

The girl's mother told authorities her daughter went missing in April 2024 and had a boyfriend named David. D4vd's government name is David Anthony Burke.

Celeste's funeral was held on October 6, 2025, at Queen of Heaven Cemetery & Mortuary in Rowland Heights, California, where family and friends gathered to say their final goodbyes.

The case represents a tragic intersection of celebrity and criminal investigation, with the young artist's career coming to an abrupt halt amid the serious allegations. As the legal proceedings move forward, the community continues to grapple with the loss of a young life and the disturbing circumstances surrounding her death.
