A prominent reality television personality has publicly addressed false claims about her political affiliations after a social media user attempted to categorize her political beliefs.
Janelle Pierzina, who competed on Big Brother across four separate seasons, confronted allegations on Monday, August 10, that she aligned with President Donald Trump and the Republican party's MAGA movement. The controversy erupted when a viewer drew comparisons between current Big Brother 28 contestant Haley Thogmartin and Pierzina.
The initial post suggested that modern audiences would dislike Pierzina if her season 6 performance aired today, claiming she held MAGA political views. The assertion prompted a detailed rebuttal from the reality star, who has maintained a significant social media presence despite not competing on the show since 2020.
"Stop labeling everyone MAGA just to create hate. Since you like spreading lies about people let me clear some things up," Pierzina wrote via X. "I'm politically independent. Socially very liberal, fiscally conservative, and anti-big-government. Pro-choice. Pro-LGBTQ rights. Pro-individual freedom. Lower taxes, less government waste, controlled immigration, and no foreign wars. I don't need every one of my beliefs to fit neatly into a political party."
The four-time competitor further challenged the characterization by noting how political discourse has evolved since her initial appearance on the reality competition series in 2005.
"By today's standards everyone from BB6 would be labeled MAGA by Twitter," she continued. "There are several people from BB6 that would have been kicked out for saying the N word, none of them were from my alliance. So basically go f*** yourself and stop spreading lies."
Pierzina established herself as a fan favorite during her debut season, competing as part of the Sovereign Six alliance. The group, which included Kaysar Ridha, Howie Gordon, Rachel Plencner, James Rhine, and Sarah Hrejsa, positioned themselves as underdogs against the remaining houseguests. Her competitive performance secured third place behind runner-up Ivette Corredero and winner Maggie Ausburn.
Her return for Big Brother 7, the show's first all-star edition, cemented her status as a competition powerhouse. Pierzina set a record with nine individual competition victories in a single season. Though she again finished third, she earned the America's Favorite Player distinction.
The realtor's subsequent appearances included Big Brother 14, where she entered as a coach alongside Mike "Boogie" Malin, Dan Gheesling, and Britney Haynes before a twist converted coaches into active players. She placed 12th that season. Her most recent competition came during the second all-stars season in 2020, when she reunited with Ridha but faced early elimination during the third week.
While Pierzina has not competed since 2020, she remains an active commentator on current seasons through her social media platforms, regularly sharing observations about gameplay and contestants.
