Reality television personality Taylor Frankie Paul disclosed over the weekend that she has endured what she described as severe emotional and physical distress while navigating domestic violence allegations brought by her former partner, Dakota Mortensen.

In an emotional message shared with her social media followers, Paul characterized the previous 40 days as exceptionally difficult, stating she experienced relentless panic attacks and felt her body deteriorating under the strain of the ongoing legal situation. The reality star indicated she has found solace in religious faith during this period, claiming she received what she termed reassuring spiritual signs.

Paul suggested that additional details regarding her perspective on the situation have not yet been made public, though she did not provide specifics about when or how she plans to share further information. She did not directly address the substance of the domestic violence allegations in her recent statement.

The legal proceedings have resulted in significant consequences for Paul. She has temporarily lost custody of her two-year-old son, Ever, whom she shares with Mortensen. This custody arrangement stems from a temporary protective order that was granted to Mortensen last month.

According to court filings, Mortensen sought the protective order following an incident he described as chaotic and frightening. In his petition, Mortensen alleged that Paul choked him, scratched him, and forcibly removed a necklace from his neck during a confrontation.

This is not the first time Paul has faced assault allegations. In 2023, she was arrested following an incident in which video footage appeared to show her throwing barstools during an altercation with Mortensen. That incident occurred in the presence of her daughter, Indy. The release of that video footage generated substantial public attention and professional consequences for Paul, including the reported cancellation of her scheduled appearance on a season of the reality dating program "The Bachelorette."

The ongoing legal matter continues to unfold as both parties navigate the court system. Paul's recent statement suggests she views herself as facing significant personal challenges while dealing with the allegations and their aftermath, though the legal process will ultimately determine the facts and outcomes of the case.

The temporary protective order remains in effect, and custody arrangements for the couple's son will likely be subject to further court review as the legal proceedings continue.
