Model and former Miss USA Olivia Culpo marked her 33rd birthday Thursday with a major announcement: she and husband Christian McCaffrey are expecting their second child together.
Culpo shared the news via Instagram on May 8, posting a series of family photographs that included a sonogram image resting on a blanket. "Best birthday gift ❤️ Baby #2 coming soon 🥹," she captioned the intimate photos featuring the San Francisco 49ers running back and their 10-month-old daughter Colette Annalise.
The pregnancy announcement comes less than a year after the couple welcomed Colette in July 2025. The Rhode Island native had previously been candid about her fertility journey, revealing in December 2022 during the finale of the reality series Culpo Sisters that she decided to freeze her eggs to alleviate pressure on her relationship timeline.
"I've been making decisions out of fear for the future," Culpo explained during the show. "There's a lot of pressure that I've been putting on my relationship because of fertility." She described the egg freezing process as "an insurance policy" that would allow her and McCaffrey to have children when the timing felt right for both of them.
The couple's relationship began in June 2019 when mutual friends arranged their first date. After keeping their romance relatively private initially, Culpo and McCaffrey made their relationship Instagram official on Valentine's Day 2020, with Culpo writing at the time: "Happy Valentine's Day to my best friend. Thank you for changing my life and showing me the kind of love I always wanted but never thought was possible."
McCaffrey proposed in April 2023 after nearly four years of dating. The couple exchanged vows on June 29, 2024, in a church ceremony in Watch Hill, Rhode Island. Culpo wore a custom long-sleeved ball gown from Dolce & Gabbana for the occasion.
"It's a covenant. It's the beginning of the rest of your life — and it's the union and bond of two people forever," Culpo told Vogue about her wedding day philosophy.
The entrepreneur and businesswoman has been a steadfast supporter of McCaffrey's professional football career, including his trade from the Carolina Panthers to the San Francisco 49ers in October 2022. The move proved fortuitous for the couple, as it allowed them to live on the same coast after a period of long-distance dating.
"It's going to make everything so much easier," Culpo told Us Magazine in November 2022. "I feel like when you care about somebody, you have to understand the things that they're gonna have to do to reach their dreams and potential."
Culpo was present at Super Bowl LVIII in February 2024, where she gave McCaffrey a pre-game embrace on the field before the 49ers faced the Kansas City Chiefs. She documented the experience on social media, writing: "Watching the love of your life live out his dream is the best feeling in the world."
The couple celebrated their first wedding anniversary on June 29, 2025, with Culpo already visibly pregnant with Colette. She shared wedding footage on Instagram with the caption: "One year down, with something new. Soon it's more than just us two 🤍 Best day ever, best year ever … happy anniversary to the love of my life."
McCaffrey responded with his own tribute, posting Polaroid-style wedding photos and writing: "Happy One Year Anniversary to The Love and My Life! You're Going To Be The Best Mom."
Following Colette's birth in July 2025, Culpo praised her husband's parenting abilities. "Colette is so lucky to have the best daddy in the world," she wrote via Instagram Stories. "A love like no other."
The family recently celebrated Colette's first Easter in April 2026, surrounded by members of Culpo's family. Now, with baby number two on the way, the couple prepares to expand their family once again as they navigate the balance between McCaffrey's demanding NFL career and their growing household.
