Following the burial of country music icon Dolly Parton, her niece has shared a heartfelt remembrance of their relationship, including one particularly memorable habit the legendary performer maintained throughout her life.

Lainey Parton posted an emotional tribute to Instagram after her aunt was laid to rest, expressing that the loss still feels surreal. Among the memories she cherishes most are the predawn telephone conversations that became a hallmark of their connection.

"I'm even going to miss those 4 AM calls," Lainey Parton wrote, according to TMZ.com.

The tribute revealed the depth of their familial bond. Dolly Parton, who never had children of her own, cultivated profound relationships with her nieces and nephews, treating them with the devotion of a parent. Lainey described how her aunt consistently made her feel valued and encouraged her aspirations, no matter how ambitious they seemed.

That encouragement extended beyond emotional support. Dolly Parton provided financial assistance for Lainey's education at beauty school and helped launch her professional career, demonstrating her commitment to her family's success.

Lainey also recounted a pivotal moment during her freshman year of high school when Dolly Parton invited her to perform on the album "Smoky Mountain DNA." Despite her nervousness, the young performer felt secure and confident standing beside her aunt, who made her feel she belonged in that professional space.

Dolly Parton's loved ones gathered Friday at her Nashville burial site, where she was interred alongside her late husband, Carl Dean.

Lainey concluded her tribute with simple words that captured the essence of their relationship: "I love you, Granny. Always," according to TMZ.com.
