Catherine Harding, the mother of 11-year-old Ada Law, has issued a firm rebuttal to pop singer Chappell Roan's claim that a security guard who allegedly confronted her daughter was not affiliated with the musician's team. The dispute centers on an incident that occurred at a hotel in Brazil, where both parties were staying.

In a video statement posted on Sunday, Harding—who goes by Cat Cavelli professionally—acknowledged that while she cannot definitively confirm the man was Chappell Roan's personal security guard, she maintains he was not hotel staff and was clearly accompanying the singer. The mother of five, who shares Ada with actor Jude Law, expressed frustration with what she perceives as an attempt to distance the artist from responsibility.

According to Harding's account, Ada was simply walking past Chappell Roan's breakfast table at the hotel when the confrontation occurred. The mother emphasized that her daughter did not have her phone out, was not seeking a photograph, and caused no disturbance. Despite this, Harding alleges that a security guard reprimanded both her and Ada to such an extent that the child was reduced to tears.

The incident gained public attention when Harding's husband, soccer legend Jorginho, posted about the encounter on social media, calling out the pop star. Chappell Roan subsequently issued an apology, though she maintained she was unaware of the incident at the time it occurred. The singer stated she never saw a child or her mother and insisted that whoever scolded them was not part of her security team.

Harding, however, is not satisfied with this explanation. In her video response, she articulated a broader principle regarding celebrity accountability. "I think you have a responsibility when you are a celebrity to make sure the people that work for you and that act on your behalf are acting on your behalf," she stated. The comment underscores her position that regardless of whether Chappell Roan witnessed the incident directly, the artist bears responsibility for the conduct of those in her employ or traveling with her.

The controversy highlights ongoing tensions between celebrities and the public regarding personal space, security protocols, and appropriate conduct when minors are involved. While public figures frequently cite the need for protection from intrusive fans, critics argue that security measures should not result in the intimidation of innocent bystanders, particularly children.

The incident has sparked debate on social media about the boundaries of celebrity security and the extent to which artists should be held accountable for the actions of their entourage. As the story continues to develop, it remains to be seen whether Chappell Roan will issue a further response or take steps to address the concerns raised by Harding regarding security protocols.
