Miley Cyrus Says Dolly Parton Sent a Sign From Beyond

Miley Cyrus told the audience at her Sunday night concert at the Hollywood Bowl that she believes she received a message from her late godmother, Dolly Parton, according to TMZ.com. The account, which the outlet published on October 19, 2026, marks the first time Cyrus has publicly discussed a supernatural experience connected to Parton, who died from cancer in August.

As Cyrus described it to the crowd, she keeps a Dolly Parton mannequin in her bedroom, a Christmas gift from Parton herself. One night, she played a video of Parton performing "Jolene" on her phone, lit a candle, and placed a flower beside the mannequin. She then quietly asked Parton to flicker the lights if she were present, and the entire hallway began flickering, Cyrus said. Her fiancé, Maxx Morando, witnessed the lights flicker but had not heard what Cyrus asked, she told the audience, according to TMZ.com.

Cyrus also said she can feel Parton's presence on stage, describing it as a comforting sensation. The remarks follow emotional tributes Cyrus has offered in recent performances since Parton's death.

The singer used the same Hollywood Bowl appearance to respond to criticism from some fans who objected that she did not sing every lyric at her first show at the venue. As she launched into a song, Cyrus said, "Oh I forgot I'm supposed to sing every f***ing line," TMZ.com reported.
