Michael Douglas has shared a story about a traffic stop that took an unexpected turn, describing how his longtime friend Danny DeVito swallowed marijuana joints to keep them from police. Douglas recounted the episode during an appearance on Joe Rogan's podcast, according to TMZ.com.
According to the account reported by TMZ.com, Douglas said the two were traveling to an event with marijuana in the vehicle when they noticed the flashing lights of a police car in their rearview mirror. Douglas, known for his role in "Fatal Attraction," stated that he exited the car and admitted only to having made an illegal left turn in an effort to smooth things over with the officers, leaving DeVito behind with the joints they had brought.
When Douglas returned to the vehicle, he discovered that DeVito had taken extreme measures to hide the drugs from the police. As TMZ.com reported, Douglas laughed while describing how the situation unfolded, noting that DeVito had what amounted to a memorable dinner that night.
The story, which TMZ.com covered in a video segment, highlights the long-running friendship between the two actors and adds to the catalog of celebrity anecdotes shared on Joe Rogan's podcast. No charges or further legal details were mentioned in the account.
