The on-again, off-again relationship between actress Megan Fox and musician Machine Gun Kelly has reached a new low point, according to sources close to the former couple. Despite efforts at reconciliation, the pair are reportedly experiencing significant communication breakdowns and explosive disagreements.
"They are not in a good place right now," a source revealed. "They were on a good path and things have blown up again. They have been having so many disagreements and explosive fights. Their communication with each other has been terrible."
Fox, 39, and MGK, 35, maintained an unstable relationship from 2020 to 2024, marked by multiple separations and reconciliations. The couple briefly reunited before Fox announced her pregnancy with their first child together. However, they ultimately separated for good before their daughter Saga Blade was born in March 2025.
The breaking point in their already strained relationship appears to have been MGK's decision to share photographs of their daughter on social media. On April 1, the musician, whose real name is Colson Baker, posted multiple images of Saga to Instagram with the caption "1 🧑‍❤️‍🔥." While the toddler's face was obscured by emojis in each photograph, the post reportedly violated an agreement between the parents.
"MGK has been trying hard to get back together with Megan, but she isn't interested," the source stated, adding that Fox was "very upset" about the social media posts. "They had an agreement they wouldn't share photos of their daughter. That was the last straw for Megan."
Sources allege that Fox believes MGK "did it to spite her," suggesting the Instagram posts were a deliberate provocation rather than an innocent celebration of their daughter's first birthday.
Prior to the photograph controversy, MGK had made public overtures toward Fox through social media comments. When the actress returned to Instagram on March 3 with photographs from a photoshoot, the musician commented, "Stoked we had a baby." On another post, he wrote, "Stoked I have your phone number."
The birth of Saga represented a significant milestone for the couple, as she is their rainbow baby following a previous pregnancy loss. Fox discussed the miscarriage during a 2023 appearance on Good Morning America, describing the experience as transformative for both parents.
"I had never been through anything like that before in my life," Fox said. "I have three kids, so it was very difficult for both of us, and it sent us on a very wild journey together and separately and together and apart ... trying to navigate, 'What does this mean?' and 'Why did this happen?'"
Fox is also mother to three sons—Noah, 13, Bodhi, 11, and Journey, 9—from her previous marriage to Brian Austin Green. MGK has a 16-year-old daughter named Casie from a prior relationship.
Following Saga's birth, MGK had spoken positively about their coparenting arrangement. During a September 2025 appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show, he praised Fox as "the greatest partner" and "a phenomenal mom."
"I had [Saga] with the person who is the greatest partner, like, the greatest partner to have had a child with, because she's such a phenomenal mom," MGK told host Jennifer Hudson. "We go back and forth on who [Saga] looks like. Last month, she looked exactly like me, and now she looks exactly like her."
The "Bloody Valentine" rapper also explained the significance of their daughter's name during that interview. "My family is Norwegian and there's a Norwegian goddess named Saga, and it means epic story," he said. "We named her Saga because to get her on this earth through highs and lows, it truly was an epic story of love, pain and a lot of magic."
Later in September 2025, MGK appeared on The New York Times' "Popcast" podcast, where he remained evasive about the status of their romantic relationship, noting that neither he nor Fox "have said anything" publicly about where they stand.
The current deterioration of their relationship suggests that whatever optimism existed following Saga's birth has dissipated amid ongoing conflicts and communication failures. With Fox reportedly uninterested in reconciliation and viewing the social media incident as a final breach of trust, the prospects for the couple's reunion appear increasingly unlikely.
