Britney Spears appeared in good spirits during an Easter weekend gathering with close friends, according to social media posts shared on Sunday, April 5. The outing marks one of the singer's first public appearances since her arrest last month on suspicion of driving under the influence.

Acclaimed songwriter Diane Warren posted a photograph to Instagram featuring herself alongside Spears, comedian Molly Shannon, and Spears' manager Cade Hudson. Warren, 69, captioned the image with "Fun afternoon with some old friends" and included a bunny emoji in recognition of the Easter holiday.

In the photograph, the 44-year-old entertainer wore a black hat, matching sunglasses, fingerless gloves, a white scarf, and an orange top. She held what appeared to be a beverage, though it remains unclear whether the drink contained alcohol. Spears gestured toward the camera while posing with her companions.

The gathering follows Spears' March 4 arrest after California Highway Patrol received reports of a black BMW operating erratically at high speeds on the 101 freeway. Officers from the Ventura Communications Center responded to the incident. Authorities stated that Spears exhibited signs of impairment and arrested her on suspicion of driving under the influence of a combination of drugs and alcohol.

Spears was processed at Ventura County Main Jail and released after three hours. Chemical test results remain pending, and the investigation continues. The singer is scheduled to appear in court on Monday, May 4.

A representative for Spears issued a statement acknowledging the severity of the incident. "This was an unfortunate incident that is completely inexcusable," the representative said. "Britney is going to take the right steps and comply with the law, and hopefully this can be the first step in long overdue change that needs to occur in Britney's life."

The statement indicated that Spears planned to spend time with her sons, Preston, 20, and Jayden, 19, whom she shares with former husband Kevin Federline. The two divorced in 2007 after three years of marriage. Spears was subsequently married to Sam Asghari from 2022 to 2023.

"Her boys are going to be spending time with her," the representative continued. "Her loved ones are going to come up with an overdue, needed plan to set her up for success for well-being."

Spears was photographed with Preston on March 29 in what observers described as a rare public image of the mother and son together. In the photograph, Preston smiled while placing his arm around his mother's shoulder.

Recent reports indicate that Preston and Jayden have begun using their mother's surname, though no legal name changes have been filed. The development represents a notable shift in the family dynamic as Spears navigates the legal proceedings ahead.

The case continues to develop as authorities await chemical test results and Spears prepares for her scheduled court appearance next month. The incident has renewed public attention on the entertainer, who has faced ongoing scrutiny regarding her personal life and well-being in recent years.
