Former boxing champion Adrien Broner was taken into custody by Beverly Hills police on Sunday evening, according to video footage obtained by TMZ. The encounter, which occurred in the Beverly Hills business district, ended without an arrest, law enforcement sources told the outlet.
The footage shows an officer leading Broner, his hands cuffed behind his back, past a crowd of onlookers before placing him in the rear of a police vehicle. The video was published by TMZ on Monday, October 26, 2026, at 6:44 AM PDT.
According to TMZ, sources within law enforcement stated that Broner was ultimately not arrested. It remains unclear why he was released or whether he received a citation. The outlet reported that it had requested an update from police but had not received a response at the time of publication.
Broner, a former champion boxer who now focuses primarily on online streaming, has had multiple prior encounters with law enforcement. Over the years, he has been arrested on charges including criminal trespass, driving while under the influence, sexual battery, sexual assault, and armed robbery, according to TMZ.
The incident adds to a history of legal troubles for the athlete-turned-streamer. While the circumstances of Sunday's detention remain undisclosed, the video evidence and the absence of an arrest distinguish this encounter from his previous run-ins with police.
