A frightening home invasion incident unfolded at the Hollywood Hills estate of actor Dylan Sprouse and his wife, model Barbara Palvin, in the early morning hours of Friday, April 17. The 33-year-old former Disney Channel star confronted and restrained an intruder who had trespassed onto the couple's Los Angeles property.
According to reports from The Los Angeles Times, the incident began when Palvin, 32, noticed what she described as "the creepy guy" on their property. She immediately contacted emergency services at 12:30 a.m., reporting an attempted burglary at their residence.
Sprouse, known for his role in The Suite Life of Zack & Cody, reportedly tackled the male intruder on the lawn of the property. According to TMZ, which first reported the incident, Sprouse was armed with a gun and held the trespasser until law enforcement officers arrived at the scene.
The incident highlights ongoing security concerns in affluent Los Angeles neighborhoods, where celebrity homes have increasingly become targets for trespassers and burglars. The Hollywood Hills area, known for its concentration of entertainment industry residents, has experienced periodic waves of property crimes over the years.
Law enforcement officials told The Times that the suspect was taken into custody on outstanding warrants. Importantly, no injuries were reported during the confrontation. Police confirmed that while the intruder successfully breached the property perimeter, he did not gain entry to the interior of the couple's house.
Representatives for Sprouse have not yet issued a public statement regarding the incident. The actor and his wife have maintained a relatively private life despite their public profiles in entertainment and fashion.
Sprouse and Palvin, a Victoria's Secret model, have been together since 2017 when they first met at a party. Their relationship took time to develop, with Palvin admitting in a February 2020 interview with British Vogue that she initially hesitated to respond to his direct message for six months. "I was very scared," she explained. "I had this thought in the back, like, 'Oh, but wait … are we going to get paparazzi'd all the time?'"
The couple made their relationship official in 2018 and moved to Brooklyn together in January 2019. Sprouse proposed in September 2022, and they married in July 2023 in Albertirsa, Hungary, at the same church where Palvin's parents had exchanged vows more than three decades earlier.
In a June 2023 interview with V Magazine, Sprouse reflected on the meaning of their commitment. "For me, at least, marriage is a promise of kind of loving you endlessly and being your partner," he stated, adding with characteristic humor that he was "nervous about a choreographed dance" at their wedding.
The incident serves as a reminder of the security challenges faced by high-profile individuals in Los Angeles, where home invasions and trespassing incidents continue to concern residents and law enforcement alike. While this particular situation ended without physical harm, it underscores the importance of robust security measures and rapid emergency response protocols in protecting residential properties.
