A Wisconsin couple known from reality television programming has filed for bankruptcy protection while facing significant legal challenges, according to court documents obtained this week.

Leida Margaretha and Eric Rosenbrook filed for Chapter 13 bankruptcy on December 26, 2025, revealing substantial financial difficulties. The filing disclosed debts totaling $351,680 against assets valued between $100,000 and $500,000.

Chapter 13 bankruptcy, commonly referred to as a wage earner's plan, permits debtors to restructure their obligations through a court-supervised repayment schedule spanning three to five years. This legal mechanism provides protection against foreclosure and halts creditor collection activities during the repayment period.

Financial records submitted to the court indicate the couple owns property valued at $346,796.80. Their combined monthly income stands at $7,210.01, while monthly expenses total $5,261. Notable expenditures include $850 for food and $125 for tobacco products.

The bankruptcy filing detailed personal assets including $3,150 in household goods, $1,080 in electronics, $500 in clothing, and $1,500 in jewelry. Additionally, the couple reported ownership of firearms and related equipment valued at $3,125, comprising four pistols, one shotgun, three rifles, ammunition, and a gun cabinet.

Their vehicle holdings include three automobiles with a combined value of $85,594: a 2011 Chevrolet Suburban worth $8,200, a 2018 Audi A6 valued at $18,500, and a Corvette Stingray appraised at $58,894. At the time of filing, their checking account contained $1,547.80.

The court-approved repayment plan requires monthly payments of $1,949 over 60 months, totaling $116,940. However, documents filed on February 13 revealed the couple had fallen behind on scheduled payments. Their legal representative attributed the delinquency to Rosenbrook's employment termination shortly after filing, though he reportedly received a conditional job offer.

December 2025 court filings indicated Rosenbrook had been employed as an electrician for two and a half months, while Margaretha worked remotely for a call center. Previous employment records show Margaretha worked in retail for Walgreens and for a towing company during 2025.

The bankruptcy case remains active and under court supervision.

Beyond financial difficulties, Margaretha currently faces 24 felony charges in Wisconsin courts. The charges include allegations of wire fraud, forgery, and theft. She appeared in court on Wednesday, where a judge prohibited her from contacting or visiting a business she allegedly defrauded. Her next court appearance is scheduled for June 17.

Attorney Taylor Hart, representing Margaretha, issued a statement addressing the criminal proceedings. Hart characterized the charges as refiled allegations stemming from conduct allegedly occurring in 2023 and 2024, noting that previous charges were dismissed entirely. The attorney stated Margaretha intends to contest the current allegations.

The couple also faces scrutiny from Wisconsin authorities investigating the death of their infant daughter, Alisa, in July 2025. The Adams County Health and Human Services Department conducted an initial assessment that determined the death to be non-accidental, finding a preponderance of evidence to substantiate physical abuse by the mother.

No criminal charges have been filed in connection with the infant's death, as the investigation remains ongoing according to county officials.

Rosenbrook has publicly stated that he and Margaretha retained a private medical examiner to challenge the autopsy findings. He asserted their expert suspects improper procedures in the original autopsy.

On Tuesday, March 11, Hart released a statement on behalf of Margaretha disputing the medical examiner's determination. The statement emphasized that Margaretha categorically denies all allegations of wrongdoing and maintains she would never have harmed her child.

The couple gained public recognition through their appearance on a reality television program that documented international relationships. Rosenbrook met Margaretha through an international dating website, leading to her relocation to Wisconsin. They married in July 2018.

The convergence of bankruptcy proceedings, criminal charges, and an ongoing death investigation presents a complex legal landscape for the Wisconsin couple. Court proceedings in all matters continue, with outcomes yet to be determined.
