Law enforcement officials in Franklin, Tennessee have opened an investigation into claims made by television actress Kirsten Storms that her cellular phone has been compromised by unauthorized parties. The Franklin Police Department confirmed the ongoing probe on Thursday, April 30, 2026.

A representative for the Franklin Police Department stated that an active investigation is underway regarding Storms' case. According to authorities, the investigation centers on the actress's allegations that unknown third parties have been conducting surveillance through her electronic devices.

The investigation follows a public statement made by Storms on April 9, when the General Hospital star posted a video to Instagram claiming her cellphone had been hacked. The specific details of the alleged intrusion were not disclosed in the social media post.

The hacking allegations emerge during a particularly challenging period for the actress. Late last year, Storms' ex-husband, Brandon Barash, obtained a restraining order against her. In court filings, Barash expressed concerns about their 12-year-old daughter's welfare while in Storms' care, citing what he characterized as unusual behavior.

According to the legal documents, Barash alleged that Storms had been moving frequently between friends' residences, hotels, and apartments. He further claimed that she had experienced delusions and hallucinations during mid-2025, with conditions temporarily improving before deteriorating again.

The court filing also referenced concerns raised by one of Storms' acquaintances, who allegedly told Barash that she believed the actress was abusing Adderall, a prescription medication commonly used to treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.

A judge granted the temporary restraining order after determining there was evidence suggesting Storms was experiencing a mental health crisis. The court ruling permitted Storms to maintain contact with her daughter through supervised visitation pending a future hearing to address the matter more comprehensively.

The Franklin Police Department has not provided a timeline for the completion of their investigation into the alleged phone hacking. As the probe remains active, authorities have not disclosed whether any suspects have been identified or what evidence has been collected thus far.

Phone hacking and unauthorized device surveillance have become increasingly prevalent concerns in recent years, with both celebrities and private citizens falling victim to such intrusions. Law enforcement agencies across the country have devoted additional resources to investigating cybercrimes as technology continues to evolve and create new vulnerabilities.
