Megan Thee Stallion was rushed to a New York City hospital on Tuesday evening after falling severely ill during a performance of 'Moulin Rouge! The Musical' on Broadway, according to representatives for the artist.

A spokesperson for the Grammy-winning performer confirmed the incident, stating that the artist "started feeling very ill" during Tuesday night's production at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre and was "promptly transported to a local hospital, where her symptoms are currently being evaluated."

The nature of the medical emergency remains undisclosed. Representatives indicated that additional updates would be provided as more information becomes available regarding her condition.

Audience members present at the performance reported on social media that the show commenced without incident, with Megan Thee Stallion participating in the production's signature musical numbers. However, the performance was abruptly halted, and the artist did not return to the stage.

The Houston-born artist made her Broadway debut last week in the role of The Zidler, the extravagant master of ceremonies in the theatrical adaptation of the acclaimed film. Her casting represented a significant crossover moment for the hip-hop star, who has previously demonstrated her performance versatility through music videos and acting appearances.

Hairstylist Kellon Deryck, who has worked with the artist, requested prayers on social media following the incident, though no further details were disclosed.

The Al Hirschfeld Theatre has not yet announced whether subsequent performances will proceed as scheduled or if an understudy will assume the role during the artist's recovery. The production, which features the music of iconic composers and a story set in the bohemian underworld of Paris, has been a Broadway mainstay since its premiere.

This medical emergency occurs during what was intended to be a limited engagement for the performer, who balanced her Broadway commitment with her ongoing music career. Fans and industry colleagues have expressed concern and support on social media platforms as they await further updates on her condition.
