The family of Ana María Cetina, a 24-year-old nanny who was among nine people killed in a private plane crash near Greenacres, Florida, on November 1, has launched a GoFundMe campaign to support her loved ones. As of Sunday, the fundraiser had collected more than $19,000 toward its $26,000 goal.
Cetina's mother, Angelica, and sister, Angie, wrote in the fundraiser's description that Cetina had "a lifetime of dreams ahead of her" before her life was "tragically cut short" in the crash, which also claimed the lives of Adam Robinson and Helen Sharp and their children, Emma and Charlie, according to TMZ.com.
In addition to caring for the Robinson and Sharp children, Cetina was a biomedical engineer who relocated to the United States in pursuit of greater opportunities. Her family noted that she became an integral part of the household she served, writing that she "became an irreplaceable part of a family," TMZ.com reported.
The fundraiser's organizers acknowledged that financial contributions cannot undo the loss, but said they hope to demonstrate the lasting impact of Cetina's life. "No donation can bring Ana María back," they wrote in the campaign description, according to TMZ.com. "But together we can show her family that her life left a lasting impact, that her kindness lives on in our memories, and that they don't have to face this pain alone."
Angie previously discussed her sister's death in an interview with The US Sun, recalling a final video call before Cetina boarded the ill-fated flight. "We did a video call, she showed me the children, she showed me the plane," Angie told The US Sun.
The crash, which occurred near Greenacres, Florida, killed Cetina, Adam Robinson, Helen Sharp, Emma, Charlie, and two other passengers, TMZ.com reported. The National Transportation Safety Board is currently investigating the incident.
The GoFundMe campaign remains active as the investigation continues and the community mourns the loss of a young woman remembered by her family for her kindness and dedication to the children in her care.
